Health Is Not Just Human
The human microbiome is an organ system comprised of trillions of microbes as critical as our brain or our heart!
These little bacterial powerhouses don’t just impact our digestive health, gut lining and nutrient synthesis but also affect hormone balance, energy levels, skin health, mood & cognitive function, weight and metabolism, immunity and more.
But stress, over sanitizing, environmental toxins, chemical additives and pesticides in our food all can lead to a depleted and imbalanced microbiome.
So Powerful?
Synbiotics are probiotics with a special ingredient called “prebiotics”—a fiber that feeds and helps multiply the effect of probiotics. Without prebiotics, your body can’t get the full benefit from probiotics.

Types of Strains
Our probiotic strains were strategically selected by organic chemists, registered dietitians, and gastroenterologists. They purposefully chose “human resident strains” (which naturally inhabit the human digestive tract) over soil, plant, and dairy strains for two very important reasons:
They are already adapted to flourish in our gut. And studies have shown (including research in the International Journal of Medical Science) that because they are naturally found in the human intestinal tract, they are far better probiotics than those that come from other sources (soil, plant, dairy).
Additionally, you already get dairy and plant based probiotics in your food and you are exposed to soil-based strains whenever you enjoy time in nature.
Amounts of Strains
Many other probiotic products use a “shotgun approach” tossing in many different strains in order to make the consumer believe they are getting more bang for their buck, but the majority of clinical studies are done with a combination of no more than 7 strains of probiotics. Having a truckload of strains in one formulation can be counter productive as we don’t really know how a wide variety of strains interact when consumed simultaneously. Alaya Advanced Synbiotic uses the 7 most heavily researched human resident strains and no more.
CFUs (Colony Forming Units)
Like the amount of strains in our probiotic, more is not more when it comes to the CFU or Colony-Forming Units either. Yet, there is a big numbers game being played when it comes to probiotics. Many products load their products with 50 billion to 300 billion CFU’s – to make the consumer think that they are getting more for their money, but the exact opposite is true. A healthy gut is a balanced gut, and ingesting a large amount of CFU’s in one serving can cause gas, bloating, and discomfort as well as throw off gut homeostasis. Adding insult to injury, often these are cheap strains that are extremely common like Lactobacillus acidophilus, which you can find in yogurt. Alaya Advanced Synbiotic has 14 billion CFU’s of 7 carefully selected strains.
No Spores
Many of our competitors use SBO’s (Soil Based Organisms) in their probiotics. This is because of their spore-forming ability. The perceived benefits of spores is that they are extremely hardy, so they survive under harsh conditions with the assumption being that they'll make it to the GI tract without inhibition from temperature, stomach acid, and medications. However, for these spores to naturally colonize in the human gut, research shows that they germinate ideally when they are chewed. For these reasons, spores are not ideally recolonized via supplementation and are best obtained in food not supplements.
A Targeted Approach
Too often, companies make their process and formulations intentionally overcomplicated to increase their price and charge more. In addition to too many strains and too many CFU’s, many companies have too many completely unnecessary ingredients. They might add “botanicals” or “herbs,” enzymes or adaptogens, and in some cases even “postbiotics” (short chain fatty acids) to their formulations. While this might seem appealing, more is not more. These ingredients may have value on their own merit, but they don’t belong in your probiotic and can potentially compromise their effectiveness. In many cases they are simply pointless. For example, postbiotics are by-products of the fermentation process carried out by probiotics in the intestine. In other words, as probiotics feed on prebiotics, postbiotics are produced. So when you see a product with added “postbiotics,” this is totally unnecessary and a waste of money. The proper probiotics partnered with powerful prebiotics will inherently produce postbiotics - at the exact right time in the exact proper location. When you see these types of ingredients on your probiotic label – consider reconsidering.
Delayed Release Capsules
When it comes to pro and prebiotic supplements, it is not just what is on the inside that counts. The capsule that delivers your microbes is as important as its contents. Alaya Advanced Synbiotic’s delayed release capsules are designed to give your probiotics the best chance of bypassing the stomach and breaking down in your small intestine instead, their ideal location to flourish. Additionally, this creates a gradual ”delayed” release of probiotics which is ideal because the release of too many probiotics at once may cause GI distress in the form of distention, gas and cramps.

SHAUNA’s THOUGHTS
So why is a comprehensive synbiotic so important?
As we ask our bodies to do more, and as we put more weight on our immune systems, our diets are worse due to industrial farming. That’s why we have to be intentional about supporting a healthy balance of gut microflora.
Taking Advanced Synbiotic means I prioritize increased energy, better digestion, and overall wellness is critical to managing my daily life.
I invite you to experience the difference for yourself!

How should I take Synbiotic?
We formulated Synbiotic to be simple to add to your daily routine. With just one capsule per day in the morning or night. Take it with or without food; there’s no need to refrigerate them.
Do I have to refrigerate Advanced Synbiotic?
No. Our Advanced Synbiotic is shelf stable and does not require refrigeration. The bacteria strains are tested to confirm stability of CFU count as well. It’s best to store them in a cool, dry place away from extreme heat.
What is Sunfiber®?
Our prebiotic fiber is galactomannan from Sunfiber® — the most trusted source in the field. It’s a gluten-free and soluble dietary fiber made from guar beans. It’s a powerful fiber that helps bring balance to the gut and digestive system.
Why is L-Glutamine in it?
Our guts thrive on the amino acid glutamine. Glutamine supports a strong intestinal lining for optimal digestion and absorption. Studies show this combination of glutamine and probiotics allows the probiotics to work far better.
What is Hypromellose?
It’s a beneficial coating on our capsules that delays the release of ingredients until they are deep into your gut. This allows the probiotics to be released where they can bring the most relief.
